SEQUOIA'S Commitment to Safety

We believe safety should be first in all that we do. We accept no compromises regarding the safety of our employees and customers. Our approach to safety comprises three complementary components:

Safety Programs – implementation and utilization of well-defined programs and processes to minimize or eliminate unexpected incidents.

Behavioral Safety – Establishing a positive safety culture that inspires and promotes a safe working environment for employees. ​

​Process safety – Understanding and identifying process and environmental hazards in the work place.

A major advantage of our self-performing execution model is that we take direct responsibility for the safety of our employees and working environment. At Sequoia Field Services, safety goes beyond simply ensuring compliance with safe working practices. It is an unwavering and unequivocal commitment that we as leaders, as team members and as individuals make for our safety and the safety of others.

OUR CULTURE OF SAFETY

Below are three examples of how we seek to reinforce safety as a daily, personal commitment – our employee expectations card, Job Loss Analysis, and employee recognition program.

EMPLOYEE
EXPECTATIONS CARD

Safety and personal accountability is reinforced through Employee Expectation Cards, which all employees receive. Employees are expected to review and sign their cards annually with their supervisors.

JOB LOSS ANALYSIS

The JLA is a pre-written tool used to carefully study and record each step of a job, identifying potential risk, business losses, safety, health, environmental risk and determining the critical actions to follow in order to successfully perform the job with zero loss.

EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION PROGRAM

Our recognition programs demonstrate respect for workforce. A meaningful, thoughtful employee appreciation program is about valuing employees' efforts and having respect for who they are and what they do.

Root Recognition Program 

Our internal safety program recognizes job sites with outstanding safety performance, achieved through collaborative implementation of best safety practices, and the individuals that play a leading role in supporting that performance.
